About the Choir

Saint Thomas Aquinas Choir

We celebrate our 44th anniversary in 2018, having come a long way since our founding in 1974. We currently have about 20 members ranging from 13 to 30-something's. As one of the choirs of Nativity Church, our role is to provide liturgical music during the celebration of the Mass and to lead the congregation in singing.

Where to Catch Us!

We sing at the 7.30am Mass every Sunday morning, and join the combined choir from time to time for Easter and Christmas Vigil Masses. The practices are tough, but everything is worth it in the end.

Singing is Not All We Do!

Fellowship is important in a church ministry. Sunday morning breakfasts, retreats, amazing races, picnics and other get-together sessions help build strong bonds between our choir members. We also often celebrate Christmas, CNY and birthdays together!

Not all our choir members are experienced singers, but we have informal vocal training sessions conducted by our own talented members, many of whom have musical or choral backgrounds. On occasion, we also attend liturgical workshops to learn more about the role and function of liturgical music in the Church and Mass.

What If I Can't Sing?

Many people think you need formal vocal training or a background in music to join a church choir – this isn't true! Many of our members have no musical background but are doing just fine, and having fun too. Vocally-trained or not, if you are looking for a way to serve and praise God, you are invited to join our ever-growing family!

If you’re interested, please approach any of us after the 7.30am mass or join us for practice at the Green House from 8.30am onwards. Alternatively you can drop an email to daryl.zion@gmail.com to find out more!
